terms of service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MatchPod mobile application (the "App"), operated by MatchPod ("we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, installing or using MatchPod, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

We may update these Terms. Material changes may be communicated by updating the date above and, where appropriate, through the App. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use MatchPod.

To use the App, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
• Not be prohibited from using the App under applicable law.
• Not have been previously banned or removed from MatchPod.
• Provide accurate and truthful registration information.

We may suspend or terminate an account that does not meet these eligibility requirements.

account creation

You create an account using your phone number and an OTP verification process. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information.

account security

You are responsible for maintaining access to your phone number, protecting your account, all activity under it, and promptly reporting unauthorised access or a security breach.

one account per person

Each person may maintain only one active account. Multiple or duplicate accounts may be removed.

accurate information

You must keep your profile current. Misrepresenting your identity, age or other material information violates these Terms.

MatchPod is a roommate-matching platform. It provides tools for profile creation, compatibility-based matching and messaging between matched users.

You agree to:

• Use the App only for its intended purpose of finding compatible roommates.
• Treat other users with respect and communicate courteously.
• Provide honest, accurate profile information.
• Report suspicious, unsafe or inappropriate behaviour.
• Comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Conduct that may result in immediate suspension or termination includes:

harmful content and behaviour

• Harassment, bullying, intimidation, threats, stalking or unwanted contact.
• Hate speech or unlawful discrimination.
• Violent, abusive or sexually explicit content.
• Impersonating another person or entity.

fraudulent or illegal activity

• Fake profiles, false information, scams, fraud or deceptive practices.
• Soliciting money, financial credentials or sensitive information from users.
• Using the App to promote or facilitate unlawful activity.

technical and commercial misuse

• Attempting to disrupt, hack or compromise the App or its security.
• Using bots, scrapers or automated tools to access the service.
• Reverse engineering, extracting source code or circumventing access controls.
• Commercial advertising, solicitation, spam or collecting user data for commercial use.

"User Content" includes profile information, photos, messages and other material you create, upload or share through MatchPod.

ownership and licence

You retain ownership of your User Content. By uploading it, you grant MatchPod a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, use, display and distribute it only as needed to operate and provide the App. This licence ends when the content or account is deleted, subject to lawful retention requirements.

content standards

Your content must be yours or lawfully shared, must not infringe third-party rights, must comply with these Terms and must not include prohibited or harmful material.

We may remove content that violates these Terms or is harmful, offensive or inappropriate.

You are responsible for your interactions with other MatchPod users. We do not conduct background checks and cannot guarantee that information supplied by a user is accurate.

For your safety:

• Meet potential roommates in a public place first.
• Tell a friend or family member about your meeting.
• Verify material information independently.
• Do not share sensitive personal or financial information.
• Trust your instincts and leave if something feels unsafe.

To the extent permitted by law, MatchPod is not responsible for user conduct or arrangements made between users.

termination by you

You may stop using MatchPod and request deletion through the process described on our Delete Account page or by emailing support@matchpod.in.

termination by us

We may suspend or terminate access for a violation of these Terms, prohibited behaviour, repeated reports, suspected fraud or illegality, extended inactivity, or conduct that threatens the community.

effect and appeal

After termination, access is revoked, your profile is hidden, matches and conversations may end, and User Content may be deleted. If you believe an enforcement decision was made in error, email support to request a review.

The App—including its design, software, features, branding, logos and related intellectual property—is owned by MatchPod or its licensors and protected by applicable law.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the App in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from the App; use our branding without permission; or remove proprietary notices.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free; that matching results will be accurate; that a connection will lead to a successful roommate arrangement; or that the App will meet every requirement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MatchPod will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from the use of the App.

This includes loss or harm arising from interactions with users, unauthorised account access, lost data, missed opportunities, roommate or rental arrangements, or in-person meetings.

Where liability cannot be excluded, MatchPod's total liability will not exceed the amount you paid to MatchPod, if any, during the twelve months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MatchPod and its officers, directors, employees and agents from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and reasonable legal expenses arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, infringement of third-party rights, User Content, or interactions with other users.

Before beginning formal proceedings, contact support@matchpod.in so we can try to resolve the issue informally and in good faith.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 of India, to the extent permitted by law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Legal proceedings not subject to arbitration will fall under the jurisdiction of the courts in India. You agree to comply with applicable local, state and national laws while using MatchPod.

• Entire agreement: these Terms and our Privacy Policy form the agreement governing your use of MatchPod.
• Severability: if a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
• Waiver: a failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
• Assignment: you may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights as permitted by law.
• No agency: these Terms do not create a partnership, employment, joint venture or agency relationship.
